Description

Advanced Illumination Light Controller - DCS-100E

The DCS-100 (Controller Part Number: DCS-100E) is an external LED Lighting driver for use with Machine Vision Lights from Advanced Illumination. This Driver is only compatible with lights that have been configured for use with the DCS-100E (DCS100) or DCS-103E (DCS103) Drivers. Compatible lights will have the characters "C1" in the part string (Generally towards the end of the part string).

The DCS-100E can be used in constant-on or overdrive strobe modes, allowing for a wide range of flexibility in deployment.

If not specified when ordering the light, lights configured for use with the DCS-100E will come standard with a connectorized 2m cable. The connector will only connect to the DCS-100E or DCS-103E controller, and cannot be changed after purchase. A light configured with for the DCS drivers can only be used with the DCS-100E or DCS-103E controllers, and cannot be used without a driver.

Factory Description

This DCS Series Controller provides Lighting Control Flexibility in a slim 112 mm x 124 mm x 23 mm package.

Plug-n-Play compatibility with Ai lighting Products, featuring SignaTech™ technology.

Seamless switching from continuous-on to gated on/off and strobe overdrive; 3 independently configurable trigger inputs.

Comes equipped with a DIN-rail mount for universal installation into industrial control panels.

Provides SDK support and simple to operate control functionality through the use of its software GUI, web browser UI, or command line.

1 output, 3 channels – designed to drive multi-channel RGB / segment lights, as well as single higher current draw lights.

Differentiation between DCS-100E and DCS-103E

The DCS-100E and DCS-103E are both 3 channel controllers, however the DCS-100E has all 3 channels wired to a single M12 5 Pole B-Coded Port, where Pin 1 is Channel 1, Pin 2 is channel 2, and pin 4 is channel 3. The DCS-103E has the 3 channels separated onto 3 different M12 5 Pole B-Coded Ports, allowing for up to 3 separate lights to be driven off of one controller.

The DCS-100E is recommended for applications where an RGB (or other 3 channel combination) light is being used, or for singular lights that require higher current draw. If you are only utilizing a single light on the controller, we recommend the DCS-100E

The DCS-103E is recommended for applications where single channel lights are being used (as long as they don't require more power than a single channel can offer). If you are utilizing multiple lights (up to 3) on a single controller, we recommend using the DCS-103E. Each channel can be individually triggered and controlled.

Note: The DCS-100E is sold separately from the light, and therefore must be purchased as a separate line item

Note: In most cases, the DCS-100/DCS-103 compatible cable on the light can be customized to be 0.2m, 0.3m, 0.5m, 1m, 1.5m, 2m (Standard option if not specified), 3m, 4m, 5m, 6m, 7m, 8m, 9m, 10m, 11m, 12m, 13m, 14m, or 15m. This customization must be done to the light at the time of order. For cable length customizations to a light, please contact Machine Vision Direct for a quote.
