Shop Machine Vision Lights from Spectrum Illumination

Spectrum Illumination: A Pioneer in Machine Vision Lighting

Spectrum Illumination was founded in 1999 by David & Naomi Muyskens. They believed they could deliver a better lighting solution for the machine vision industry at a lower cost. This idea grew with time and Spectrum Illumination now prides itself on providing customers with excellent service, smart lighting solutions, and the full package. This means we make sure when you order a light from us you have everything you need to get it up and running. All of our signature Monster Lights come standard with light, controller, and cable.

Shop Backlights from Spectrum Illumination

Machine Vision Back Lights for Edge Detection, Part Location, Part Orientation, Presence/Absence, Hole Detection, and Gauging

Back Lighting provides an area of uniform illumination, oriented behind the object of interest, primarily for creating a part silhouette of instant contrast between dark and light. It is most useful for edge detection, part location & orientation or presence & absence, hole detection and object gauging

Shop Diffused Axial Lights from Spectrum Illumination

Machine Vision Diffused Axial Lights for Hot Spot Free Illumination of Shiny or Uneven Surfaces

Diffused Axial lights are used to create even lighting on shiny and uneven surfaces. Diffused Axial lights are built using a beam splitter to reflect the diffused light onto the field of view. The reflected light from the area of interest is then able to pass through the beam splitter into the camera lens. Because the light is on the same axis as the camera and is diffused, the image from a shiny or uneven surface will not have any hot spots or shadows.

Shop Dome Lights from Spectrum Illumination

Machine Vision Dome Lights for use on Uneven or Highly Reflective Surfaces

Domes provide uniform illumination with no reflections or shadows. Ideal for highly reflective parts if your application requires even lighting over the area of inspection.

Shop Linear Lights from Spectrum Illumination

Machine Vision Linear Lights for Bright Field, Dark Field, and High Intensity Illumination Applications

Bar lights use LED arrays in compact, linear units to provide economical illumination for a variety of tasks. Available in a variety of lengths, bar lights are useful for large area illumination when used in opposing pairs or in a picture frame mounting orientation. Bar Lights can also be used in place of Spot or Ring Lights when greater intensity is required.

Shop OXY Flat Dome Lights from Spectrum Illumination

Machine Vision Flat Dome Lights for Illuminating Uneven Surfaces

Spectrum Illumination Series Oxy Lights are used in applications requiring highly diffused illumination. The light was designed to be used on applications that are shiny or uneven (will not work on mirrored surfaces), almost like a dome light would. The advantage is that a dome cannot be used in a wash down FDA compliant area because enclosing a dome causes light reflections from the clear window of an enclosure.

Shop Bright Field Ring Lights from Spectrum Illumination

Bright Field Ring Light fo

Bright field ring lights provide illumination directly onto an object, at angles of incidence above 45 degrees from horizontal, creating distinct shadows or general purpose illumination depending on subject features. This type of lighting is effective when used on objects requiring high degrees of contrast, but may create unwanted specular reflections when directed at shiny or reflective materials because of the high angle of incidence. Working distances can be short to very long

Shop Spot Lights from Spectrum Illumination

Spot Lights for Dark Field and Bright Field Illumination

Spot Lights are typically characterized as general purpose lighting. They may be used to create both bright field and dark field effects, depending on the light angle of incidence. Working distances can be short to long, depending on available intensity and beam spread. Small spot lights are beneficial when deployed in tight spaces.

Shop Washdown Lights from Spectrum Illumination

Washdown Lights for use in Harsh Environments and Food Grade Applications

Our wash down lights are waterproof, IP68 rated, and FDA compliant with a 316 stainless steel housing designed for most wet and harsh environments. Each light is individually water tested before leaving our facility.
