Back Lighting provides a silhouette of objects and creates a bright background and a dark object. Backlighting is commonly used for gauging applications, flash inspection, and hole detection. Backlighting enhances cracks, bubbles, and scratches when used on translucent/transparent parts. Surface detail is lost when using backlights on non-translucent parts.
